Host a Class
Come along to our bimonthly photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.
Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a casual photo walk with other local photographers. No formal lectures, just a chance to meet-up, share ideas and receive feedback! We have a different photo theme bimontly and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations around Phoenix. It's a great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from amateurs to professionals. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

Complete beginner? Please complete a Beginners Photography Class before attending a regular group session. This is a 3 hour structured workshop where you’ll learn the basics of using your camera with more 1-on-1 time with the instructor. Scroll down for dates.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

After group editing session. After each group the instructor runs an optional 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session to help you improve your important post-shoot skills. While much editing can be done on modern cameras, it's best to bring a tablet or laptop with editing software to get the most out of this session. Select this option when booking to attend.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

After realizing I didn't know as much as I thought I did about digital photography this course was a new beginning. I now better understand what it means to shoot in manual digital mode. i hope to use this knowledge to better enjoy photography. Not to mention take better pictures.

Jimmy worked hard to bring value to the experience. It was challenging dealing with the heat but worthwhile.

This was a nice informal event that went a long ways in helping the participants understand the operation and function of their cameras. The small group round-table setting was highly conducive towards understanding.

As a beginner, it helped me a lot. I thought it was very helpful, learning how to take portraits under a tree with full sun. I am very happy with the photos I was able to take.

It was a very instructive. I am in total beginning stage of photography, did not understand anything about manual use of a camara, always used auto settings. This class gave me enough information to start using my camera manually. Love the class, great instructor and attendees.

A beginner's class is challenging as the instructor must gauge each person's comprehension along the way. Jimmy Sullivan was excellent. Class size was perfect, and Jimmy stopped along the way to make sure we were all caught up with each other so it never got overwhelming. I will definitely take more classes.
