Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Phoenix .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Phoenix Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

The class was very hands-on. It was very practical. There were varied experience levels and all were treated with patience as needed. Inter-participant sharing was awesome as well. I learned plenty!

    Susan Holt
Susan Holt has hiked hip-deep through blizzards, been dropped by helicopter into the Canadian wilderness, and flown with Icelandic bush pilots in pursuit of the perfect landscape shot. She has squared off with North American Bison and been chased across the Sonora desert by wild pigs. She has been rim-rocked in Utah 2019s Glenn Canyon, caught in a sandstorm in Death Valley, kayaked through alligator-filled swamps of Louisiana 2019s Atchafalaya Basin, spelunked the ice caves of Vatnajokull, and survived flash floods and lightning storms in the Hoodoo Badlands.

Once, on the Oregon coast, an explosion of sea water from a sink hole called Thor 2019s Well ate her $6,000 Nikkon camera. With topographic maps and meteorological apps, she has driven hundreds of miles through the night, fueled on protein bars and popcorn, to capture the morning light on wildflowers in Mt. Rainier National Park. She 2019s done it all in pursuit of ephemeral, magisterial moments of encounter with the natural world. These moments have appeared in the pages of Backpacker Magazine, Sierra, the magazine of the Sierra Club, and The Visitor 2019s Guide to Yosemite National Park.
